IHA has an excellent full-time employment opportunity for a certified Nurse Practitioner to join the Perinatal Wellness Center located on the campus of St. Joseph Mercy Hospital in Ann Arbor, Michigan.

This center is a multidisciplinary office involving lactation consultants, focus on emotional and mental health in the postpartum period, as well as a place to meet the physical and mental needs of a vulnerable population.

Responsibilities for this opportunity include:

• Independent breastfeeding evaluation and treatment of mom and baby dyads
• Willingness to develop and lead perinatal/breastfeeding support groups
• Collaboration with inpatient lactation consultant team
• Phone/telehealth follow-up of discharged OB patients
• Community outreach and education  

Interested candidates should have the following areas of interest:

• Strong desire to advance the care for woman and children in the perinatal period
• Work with collaborative team to build programming and innovate perinatal care models
• Interest in facilitating transitions of care for patients from admission to outpatient care
• Interest in understanding the impact of Social Determinants of Health and Health Inequities on care for families in the perinatal period

IHA prefers a Womens Health Nurse Practitioner (WHNP) trained and certified candidate and are open to new or recent WHNP graduates. However, they will also consider a Family Nurse Practitioner (FNP) trained candidate with prior Womens Health experience. International Board of Lactation Consultant Examiner Certification is preferred, along with Certified Lactation Consultant Certification.

This is an exciting opportunity for the right Nurse Practitioner to be part of a well-established group practice in IHA's Obstetrics & Gynecology Division.
