The IR Technologist will have the opportunity to collaborate with the nursing team to advance healthcare while creating a culture of teamwork, professionalism, and respect.

The IR Tech will assist the IR physicians in the areas of vascular and non-vascular IR and Neuro IR Procedures.

Scope of work includes preparing procedure rooms and/or surgical suites for procedures, performing surgical site sterile aseptic technique to prep patients for interventional procedures, prepare medical devices prior to use and/or implantation, assists physicians in procedures by circulating and scrubbing for cases, obtaining and recording patient information, operate X-ray fluoroscopy systems including 3D rotational angiography acquisition, as well as other advanced techniques, operate ultrasound machines interprocedurally, perform image post processing and QC.

As part of the BSWH team, the IR Tech will maintain a high level of expertise and knowledge in procedures ranging from basic biopsy and drainage procedures to more extensive procedures requiring interventions such as Interventional Oncology interventions, angioplasty, stenting, thrombolysis, embolization, portal hypertension interventions, abdominal and thoracic aortic aneurysm treatment, as well as neuroendovascular interventions.

Able to provide services in a timely, accurate, and cost-efficient manner in compliance with established System and regulatory standards, policies and procedures.
Able to perform tasks independently without need for routine oversight.
Able to maintain a calm and helpful attitude, even under times of stress, and take appropriate and reasonable steps to resolve issues.
Able to effectively administer first aid and use emergency cart.
Able to ensure customer satisfaction by limiting wait times, providing courteous service, remaining professional, reviewing patient satisfaction scores and developing action plans when required.
Demonstrates and maintains current knowledge, continued education and skills appropriate care for the following age groups (specific to department): newborn, pediatric, young adult, adult and geriatric.
Able to serve as preceptor by providing quality training to new team members and on new services and initiatives.
Able to take call, if required.

QUALIFICATIONS

- EDUCATION - Grad of an Accredited Program

- EXPERIENCE - Less than 1 Year of Experience

- CERTIFICATION/LICENSE/REGISTRATION -
       ARRT-R Radiography (ARRT-R): ARRT-Radiography (ARRT-R) is required.

       Basic Life Support (BLS): BLS is required.

       Medical Radiologic Tech (MRT): Must be licensed by the State of Texas Medical Board as a Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT).

       ARRT-CI Cardiac-Interventional (ARRT-CI), ARRT-CV Cardiovasc-Inter Rad (ARRT-CV), ARRT-VI Interventional Rad (ARRT-VI): Must be certified in one of the following within two (2) years of hire date:
-- ARRT Cardiac Interventional Radiography (ARRT-CI) or
-- ARRT Interventional Radiography (ARRT-VI)
-- ARRT Cardiovascular Interventional Radiography (ARRT-CV).
