Willamette Valley Cancer Institute and Research Center strives to provide the most collaborative and comprehensive care for our community. To provide an addition and crucial extra layer to our support team, WVCI is looking for a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to join the Gynecology Oncology department. This individual will partner with the providers and RNs to create and maintain bridges of communication with the patients, ensuring their spot as part of their healthcare team. Responsible for patient education, pre- and post-op communication, and assisting with in-office procedures, this LPN will use their incredible communication skills and compassionate care to assist the patients on their journey along the cancer care continuum.

Perform all duties within the OSBN scope of practice for an LPN.
Records, and reports patients' condition and reaction to drugs and treatments to physicians.
Screens patients for appropriate information.
Responds to and refers incoming telephone calls. Instructs patient and family regarding medications and treatment instructions based off of the prescribed treatment plan.
Maintains patient chart and other PHI information.
Post appointment/Pre-surgery wrap up and provide surgery packet to patient.
Per-surgery scheduling order including all applicable pre-surgery lab testing.
Pre-surgery patient education call.
Follow charting templates for all patient interactions.
Post-Op follow-up call with patients.
Coordinate with staff RN if concerns outside of prescribed care plan.
Nurse assistance with procedures including paracentesis and staple removal following competency checklist.
Cover work queue as appropriate within OSBN LPN scope and collaborate with team RN.
High school graduate or equivalent.
Graduate from an accredited school for practical nursing.
This position requires at least 3 years' experience as a practical nurse.
Current unincumbered LPN state license and registration with the State Board of Practical Nursing in practicing state.
Current BCLS certification required within 3 months of hire.
