The Department of Pharmacy Practice within Chapman University School of Pharmacy (CUSP) seeks applicants for a 12-month Community Pharmacy Enhanced Service Network (CPESN) Pharmacy Resident position.
The purpose of the CPESN Executive Residency is to develop pharmacy practitioners that are actively involved in providing and developing advanced patient care services within the community pharmacy setting. In addition, this executive residency program will help the resident learn how to implement large scale change in the community pharmacy setting though active involvement in the California CPESN.
The executive resident will provide patient care activities and will staff at one or more community pharmacy sites, coach Network pharmacy sites according to the Flip the Pharmacy model and help manage the California CPESN with CUSP faculty and Coordination Center. In addition, the Executive Resident will be required to teach in the didactic curriculum, precept student pharmacists on rotations, and conduct a year-long research project or another suitable project.
This position is classified as staff non-exempt and reports to the Executive Residency Program Director in the Department of Pharmacy Practice at CUSP.
A Doctor of Pharmacy Degree from an ACPE accredited school of pharmacy.
A licensed pharmacist possessing or capable of obtaining CA licensure.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills and be able to interact with patients, other providers, student pharmacists, other postdoctoral residents/fellows, and faculty within the university and at the practice site.
A commitment to teamwork, ability to provide clinical and classroom teaching to student pharmacists and other healthcare professional students.
Ability to establish and provide exemplary patient care within a community pharmacy setting.
Ability to use tact, diplomacy and maintain a high level of confidentiality.
Strong commitment to teamwork.
Technical skills to learn and use enterprise systems and departmental tools.
Ability to learn and abide by university and department policies and procedures.
Previous experience working in a pharmacy setting and providing exemplary patient care.
