The residency program at Miami Valley Hospital builds upon Doctor of Pharmacy education and outcomes to contribute to the development of clinical pharmacists who are:
Responsible for medication-related care of patients with a wide range of conditions
Eligible for board certification
Eligible for postgraduate year two (PGY2) pharmacy residency training
After orientation, the resident will begin a series of nine monthly rotations and other longitudinal activities designed to the meet the goals and objectives of the residency program. The residency program includes a staffing component of every other weekend. A major project will also be completed and presented at a regional pharmacy residency conference.

The program offers two PGY1 resident positions.
Interested candidates should submit the following items via PhORCAS to the Program Director no later than January 1, 2020.
Letter of Intent – one page letter explaining why the candidate is interested in the position and what qualifications he/she has that are not fully captured within the remaining application packet
Three letters of recommendation
All pharmacy residents for the PGY1 Pharmacy Residency program must be U.S citizens and must be eligible for Ohio licensure. Upon receipt and review of all application materials, individual candidates will be selected for on-site interviews at Miami Valley Hospital in January and February.
In compliance with therules and regulations of the National Matching Services and ASHP, the residency site agrees that no person will solicit, accept, oruse any ranking-related information from any residency applicant.
