This position is for practitioners who desire to pursue a two-year specialized training program, which prepares pharmacists for management positions in hospitals and integrated health care systems. This program develops residents with solid clinical and administrative skills necessary for leaders in health-system pharmacy and various other health care environments. Through directed practical experience, this specialized residency is designed to develop expert skills and competencies in pharmacy practice leadership. This will be accomplished through a diverse offering of clinical, management, research, and teaching experiences. The program emphasizes the dynamic role of the pharmacy leader within a large, metropolitan, multi-campus hospital enterprise.
The resident will have the option of combining the two-year residency program with a 28 month, Master of Health Administration from the Columbia University, Mailman School of Public Health starting in September of the PGY1 year.
Requirements include: Doctor of Pharmacy degree; eligibility for New York internship, permit and licensure; College of Pharmacy transcript; curriculum vitae, letter of intent, three references within PHORCAS, and onsite interview.
