Department Description The Department of Pharmaceutical Services is responsible for a wide range of services to patients, patient care areas, and other Hospital, Health-System and Academic departments. The Oncology Staff II Pharmacist position focuses on oncology patient care in the inpatient medical oncology setting. The Staff II Oncology pharmacist will work primarily in the inpatient Medical Oncology/Hematology , Stem Cell Transplant and Surgical/Gynecologic Oncology Services. Job SummaryFinal Filing Date : 2/18/2020Salary Range : $82.79 -$82.79Salary Frequency : HourlyAppointment Type : Per DiemPercentage of Time : .001Shift Hour :8 hoursLocation : Main HospitalCity : SacramentoUnion Representation : YesBenefits Eligible : No. THIS IS NOT AN H1- B OPPORTUNITY Responsibilities The Staff II Oncology Pharmacist is responsible for directing and maintaining drug therapy across the continuum of care, providing focused monitoring in the areas of cancer therapy, supportive care/symptom management, antimicrobial management, anticoagulation, and parenteral nutrition therapy. The Staff II Oncology Pharmacist continuously seeks out interventions by making rounds with the medical teams and offering suggestions on individualized medication regimens. The pharmacist is an integral member of the health care team, also contributing to drug distribution activities, providing drug information, serving as a preceptor to pharmacy students and residents, conducting clinical research, and participating in Department and Hospital Committees, task forces and work groups. They foster excellent interdepartmental relationships and provide quality and cost effective pharmaceutical care to all patients, employees and medical staff of UCDMC. Required Qualifications
California Pharmacist License.
Completion of PGY2 Oncology Residency (or equivalent experience: minimum of 3 years in >50% oncology clinical pharmacist position).
Working knowledge of regulations and safety requirements for safe handling, preparation and administration of hazardous drugs.
Working Knowledge of hospital practice, chemotherapy and hazardous drugs compounding and control procedures.
Board Certification in Oncology Pharmacy (BCOP).
Educational experience and ability to work with and direct health care professionals.
Educational experience and ability to work with, direct and evaluate pharmacy residents and students.
Special RequirementsThis position may be subject to a criminal background investigation, drug screen, Live Scan fingerprinting, medical evaluation clearance, and functional capacity assessment.
