Department Description The Pharmacy Department provides comprehensive pharmaceutical services (unit dose, IV admixtures, clinical services, infusion pumps, pharmacy technology, and teaching) throughout the Health System 24 hours per day. The Department is comprised of three inpatient, six outpatient pharmacies, a sterile production lab, and the full complement of pharmacy purchasing, stores and distribution. Staff consists of professional and technical and administrative support personnel. In total, the Technician Supervisors are responsible for 52 Career technicians and 23 per diem technicians. THIS IS NOT AN H1- B OPPORTUNITY ResponsibilitiesThe Pharmacy Supervisor I is responsible for on-line supervision of Inpatient Technician II and IIIs. Responsible for daily management of operations. Responsible for supervision, staff development and assessment of staff competency for technicians. Responsible for technician student training in the areas. Manages daily scheduling of technicians and duty assignments. Works with the Inpatient Assistant Chief Pharmacist and inpatient Pharmacy Supervisors to identify areas of improvement and solutions through integration of Pharmacy Resources. Responsible for investigation and remedy of incident reports in responsible areas. Required Qualifications
Valid California Pharmacy Technician License.
Experience working in a Hospital Inpatient Pharmacy, to include IV and Unit Dose operations.
Experience working with Automatic Dispensing Machines.
Must be able to perform pharmacy calculations.
Knowledge of the Affirmative action policies of UCDMC.
Experience teaching and evaluating performance of pharmacy technicians, and students.
Experience working with Pyxis and EPIC Systems for data retrieval, billing and problem solving.
Experience managing and leading of multiple staff members.
