We serve together at Mount Carmel in Trinity Health, in the Spirit of the Gospel, to heal body, mind and spirit, to improve the health of our communities and steward the resources entrusted to us.
Inspired by our Catholic faith tradition, Mount Carmel will be distinguished by an unrelenting focus on clinical and service outcomes as we seek to create excellence in care experience. Mount Carmel will become the most trusted health partner for life.
Pharmacy Residency Purpose Statement:
PGY1 pharmacy residency programs build on Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) education and outcomes to contribute to the development of clinical pharmacists responsible for medication-related care of patients with a wide range of conditions, eligible for board certification, and eligible for postgraduate year two (PGY2) pharmacy residency training.
With our mission statement in mind, we believe pharmacists are an essential member of a multidisciplinary team, working together with other health caregivers to provide the best care to our patients. The resident will be exposed to a wide range of patient populations and given an opportunity to work concurrently as a clinician and an educator. Our goal is to teach, model, coach and facilitate the residents’ ability to be independent and render the best care to our patients. The Post Graduate Year one residency at Mount Carmel Grove City is an advanced training program structured to develop and hone a resident’s communication and clinical skills in order to become a confident, competent pharmacist who is able to provide effective pharmaceutical care to patients in the acute care setting, as well as to set the foundation to pursue a PGY 2 residency and/or a faculty position. We hope the mission of our organization will be a guiding principle to our residents as they utilize the skills they have acquired.
