The PGY2 Critical Care residency is a 12 month program designed to develop well rounded clinical practitioners in Critical Care Pharmacotherapy. One residency position will be offered.
Pharmacists completing this residency program will be exposed to a variety of settings intended to provide a solid knowledge base of critical care. Clinical pharmacy specialists with PGY2 critical care training provide support for our institution daily. The residency preceptor provides guidance to the resident and ensures that the goals set forth by the resident and the program are met. The preceptors also provide the resident with frequent evaluation of their progress.
A major focus of this PGY2 Critical Care residency program involves working as a member of a health care team, communicating with and providing education to physicians, nurses, and patients on appropriate medication therapy. During this program, it is expected that the resident will grow professionally and will demonstrate independent learning and effective communication skills throughout the residency. Our purpose is to provide the resident with the knowledge, skills and attitude required to achieve excellence as a clinician, educator and scholar in the area of critical care and infectious disease medicine.
