The VCU Health System PGY2 Ambulatory Care Pharmacy Residency is an ASHP accreditation-pending (survey completed June 2019), twelve-month program within the specialized practice area of ambulatory care. Clinical emphasis is on structured, longitudinal clinical practice experiences in a variety of ambulatory practices. Upon completion of this PGY2 program the resident will be prepared for an ambulatory clinical pharmacist position with clinical faculty responsibilities.
In addition to the Showcase, interviews for this residency will be scheduled in the Personal Placement Service.
Applicants must be Doctor of Pharmacy graduates from an ACPE-accredited school or college of pharmacy; have completed an accredited PGY1 Pharmacy Practice Residency; be licensed or eligible for pharmacist licensure in Virginia; and have requisite patient care training or experience. The successful applicant must possess exceptional knowledge, clinical problem solving, communication skills and leadership qualities.
