The Cedars-Sinai - Chapman School of Pharmacy PGY1 Pharmacy Practice Residency provides comprehensive pharmacy practice training experience in an ambulatory care setting through our disease prevention and management programs, including Anticoagulation, Diabetes, Hypertension, Travel Medicine and Pain Management.
The residency provides opportunities to learn about population health and managed care. The residency also offers a Teaching Certificate Program through Chapman University School of Pharmacy. The goal of this residency is to develop a clinical pharmacist with comprehensive training in an ambulatory care setting.
The Clinical Pharmacist Role includes:
Evaluating drug therapies
Developing treatment plans
Titrating medications under protocol
Educating patients enrolled in drug therapy management programs
Analyzing the effectiveness of clinical services and reporting outcomes
Analyzing health plan pharmacy data to minimize costs to consumers and health plans
Participation in the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee to ensure safe and effective use of medications
Training pharmacy students
Doctor of pharmacy degree from an accredited school of pharmacy
Must be eligible for pharmacist licensure in the state of California
