Cohen Children’s Medical Center’s (CCMC) PGY2 specialized pediatric residency program’s mission is consistent with the overall mission of Northwell Health and the Pediatric Service Line: to improve the health of our neonatal and pediatric patients by providing the highest quality of care. The children’s hospital serves as an academic training center for Zucker School of Medicine at Hofstra/Northwell. The residency program will provide a comprehensive curriculum in training the next generation of exceptional pharmacists to become a pediatric specialty pharmacy services leader while upholding the highest standard of professionalism. The resident will be competent and confident in educating other members of the interdisciplinary healthcare team, patients, their caregivers, and the community we serve on medication-related issues specific to pediatric patient population.
Rotation experiences include pediatric intensive care unit (PICU), neonatal intensive care unit (NICU), infectious diseases (ID), emergency medicine, transplant, medication safety/informatics, hematology/oncology, and bone marrow transplant, with additional experience opportunities based upon individual resident interest(s).
-PharmD from an Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) accredited degree program
-Completion of an ASHP-accredited PGY1 residency program
- Eligible for licensure in the state of NY (preferred if already licensed)
