Our PGY1 residency is focused in Mental Health. Our residents have opportunities to practice mental health in the outpatient setting, in the primary care setting, and also with our severely mentally ill through our Mental Health Intensive Case Management setting. Our residents also receive a broad education in other pharmacy practices areas so as to be well rounded Clinical Pharmacy Specialists upon completion of our program.
Our clinical pharmacists are well integrated in all of our clinic locations across our system. Each of clinical pharmacy specialists operate under a Scope of Practice, and cover such areas as Primary Care, Anticoagulation, Neurology, Oncology, Infectious Diseases, Internal Medicine, Transitions of Care, amongst others. We offer our inpatient rotations, including electives in Emergency Medicine and Critical Care, through our contracted hospitals in Corpus Christi. Our residents will have the opportunity to develop their skills and knowledge base from a wide variety of preceptors who are invested in our Veteran’s and our residents success.
