Our ASHP accredited PGY1 residency program at Grandview Medical Center is a 12-month post-graduate program with a focus on developing a competent and confident pharmacist in the acute care setting. This program offers a variety of experiences and has equipped its residents for positions in generalized clinical roles, PGY2 training, academia and others.
Two residency positions are available. Residents will be directly involved in providing pharmaceutical care to patients in the acute care setting. This will include functioning as part of a multidisciplinary team including physicians, physician residents, nurses and others. Residents will have an appointment faculty position at Ohio Northern University to complete a Teaching certificate program. They will complete longitudinal activities including a research project, lectures to the Internal Medicine residency program, seminar presentations, pharmacy staff education, journal clubs, medication use monographs and new drug monographs among other projects.
Residents will also have involvement on various hospital committees (from Network Clinical Pharmacist Committee to Infection Prevention and Control Committee, etc.). Grandview Medical Center is a member of Kettering Health Network.
