Chicago State University College of Pharmacy and Walmart Pharmacy offer 12- month PGY-1 Community Pharmacy Residency Program. This one-year post- doctoral program is ideal for anyone seeking advanced training in community pharmacy, academia, and ambulatory care. One position is available, offering unique experiences and a variety of activities that will help develop leadership, clinical and teaching skills.

Residency Program Goal
The goal of the PGY-1 Community Pharmacy Residency Program is to educate and train pharmacist capable of developing, implementing and providing patient-centered pharmacy care services in the community setting. The resident will also attain additional knowledge and skills in conducting practice-based research, performing academic activities and providing ambulatory care services.
Approximately 60%- focused on providing direct patient care in Walmart pharmacies. This will allow the resident to develop and implement patient-centered pharmacy care services in the community pharmacy setting.
Approximately 30% - allocated towards developing his/her clinical skills in the ambulatory care setting and participating in a teaching certificate program.
