This PGY1 pharmacy residency gives in-depth experience in broad areas of pharmacy practice including cardiology, infectious diseases, pharmacokinetics, drug information/drug policy, internal medicine, critical care, emergency medicine, mental health, nutritional support, and administration. Residents are required to present formal lectures to medical residents, as well as continuum education to pharmacists, and pharmacy technicians. In addition, residents are required to complete a research project and present the results at the American Society of Health-System Pharmacists (ASHP) Midyear Clinical Meeting and at the Florida Residency Conference (FRC). The resident also serves as a preceptor for pharmacy students throughout the residency year. Requirements for Acceptance:
Applicants must submit an application through Pharmacy Online Residency Centralized Application Service (PhORCAS) and register through the National Matching Service (NMS).
Applicants must have graduated with a Doctor of Pharmacy degree from an Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE) accredited Doctor of Pharmacy Program and be licensed or eligible for licensure in Florida.
3 letters of recommendation (at least one from a current licensed pharmacist)
