The Department of Radiation Oncology at the University of California, Irvine is seeking qualified candidates for a Faculty Radiation Oncologist position at the level of Assistant, Associate or Full Clinical Professor in the Health Sciences Clinical Professor Series. Salary and rank will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Duties will include clinical service. The successful candidate must be Board eligible/certified in Radiation Oncology, and licensed/eligible in California. Clinical responsibilities will involve all aspects of Radiation Oncology including Brachytherapy, inpatient and outpatient care, and development of both clinical programs and investigational trials. The department participates in RTOG, SWOG, GOG, and NSABP.
The Radiation Oncology Department is located at the University of California, Irvine Medical Center in Orange, California and is affiliated with the NCI-designated Chao Family Comprehensive Cancer Center. The department is equipped with 2 linear accelerators, one TrueBeam, a CT-simulator and treatment planning systems including a Trilogy with RapidArc, Brilliance CT-simulator with 4DCT, and a HDR brachytherapy unit. Multimodality imaging for treatment planning (MR, PET-CT) is readily accessible and in routine clinical use. Further equipment upgrades are planned in the future years.
The Department has a Medical Physics Division with a CAMPEP accredited physics residency program. The department also has an active Radiation Biology Division with research laboratories equipped with a full range of laboratory resources situated at the UCI campus.
Requirements - Requirements include an M.D. and Board Certification or Eligibility within their specialty. Academic rank and salary commensurate with qualifications. The applicant must have demonstrated capabilities for teaching and professional service.
