Located in Southern Oregon, Asante Health System includes Rogue Regional Medical Center (ARRMC), Three Rivers Medical Center (ATRMC), and Ashland Community Hospital. For the sixth consecutive year, Asante has been named one of Watson Health’s 15 Top Health Systems in the Nation. The Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services has announced its 2017 Overall Hospital Quality Star Ratings, and all three Asante hospitals have earned five stars — the highest rating awarded.
Asante offers two pharmacy residency programs, Asante Rogue Regional Medical Center PGY-1 program and Asante Three Rivers Medical Center PGY-1 program.
Both PGY-1 pharmacy residency programs builds on Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) education and outcomes to contribute to the development of clinical pharmacists responsible for medication-related care of patients with a wide range of conditions, eligible for board certification, and eligible for postgraduate year two (PGY2) pharmacy residency training.
Residents are involved in many aspects of the pharmacy profession including the following:
Providing medication therapy management to a diverse population
Assessing, monitoring, and delivering pharmacotherapy
Participating in Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee activities
Providing education to health care professionals, patients, and the community
Presenting a major project locally, regionally and nationally
Attending national, state, and local pharmacy meetings
Providing departmental, organizational, and community service
Serving as authors for the Asante Pharmacy and Therapeutics Bulletin

Asante Rogue Regional Medical Center (ARRMC) PGY-1

The PGY-1 pharmacy residency conducted by Asante Rogue Regional Medical Center in Medford, Oregon is accredited by the American Society of Health-System Pharmacist (ASHP). In 2018, CareChex® - an information service of Quantros, Inc., has named Asante Rogue Regional Medical Center the No. 1 hospital in the country for medical excellence in interventional coronary care. For heart attack treatment, Asante Rogue Regional ranked No. 1 in Oregon for medical excellence and patient safety. Asante Rogue Regional received its high national rankings out of more than 3,000 hospitals in the country, and statewide out of 62 hospitals. From 2014 to 2017, Asante Rogue Regional was been named a 100 Top Hospital® by Truven Health Analytics™, a leading provider of information and solutions to improve the quality and cost of health care. Asante Rogue Regional is the only hospital in the state and among only 100 out of nearly 3,000 hospitals nationwide to achieve this mark of distinction. In 2016, ARRMC was recognized with the highest award from the American Heart Association for excellence in treating the most severe form of heart attacks with a Mission: Lifeline® Receiving Center-Gold Plus quality achievement award, which recognizes the hospital’s groundbreaking STEMI (ST segment myocardial infarction) program.

Asante offers a PGY-1 Pharmacy Residency in Grants Pass, Oregon with the main training site at Three Rivers Medical Center. In 2016, Asante Three Rivers Medical Center has been honored with the American Nurses Credentialing Center’s Pathway to Excellence® re-designation, making it one of only 139 hospitals in the nation – and the only hospital in Oregon – with this distinction.
ATRMC has 125 licensed beds and 788 full-time employees. There is one resident position available.
