Mercy Medical Center PGY1 Pharmacy Residency Program trains pharmacists to become well-rounded practitioners based on a variety of experiences including: internal medicine, cardiology, critical care and infectious disease, behavioral health, oncology, leadership, ambulatory care, research, medication safety, drug information and transitions of care. Our program is based on the core areas of pharmacy practice defined in ASHP's accreditation standards. Our affiliation with Western New England University's School of Pharmacy also provides various academia experiences such as classroom teaching and precepting pharmacy students with onsite faculty.
Applicants for the program are required to submit their application through PhORCAS and must include college transcript(s), a letter of intent, curriculum vitae and 3 letters of recommendation. Applicants are required to be U.S. Citizen or permanent resident, Graduate of ACPE-accredited college of pharmacy with a Pharm.D. degree, and eligible for Massachusetts licensure.
