Memorial Hospital Pembroke’s PGY-1 residency program builds on Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) education to contribute to the development of clinical pharmacists responsible for medication-related care of patients. Upon graduating, the residents will be eligible for board certification, PGY-2 pharmacy residency training, and other specialized pharmacy roles.
Memorial Hospital Pembroke is part of Memorial Healthcare System one of the largest public health care systems in the nation. There are 301 licensed beds, including a 29 bed Emergency Department and 12 bed ICU. The facility is NIH Stroke Certified, a Bariatric Center of Excellence, Medical Stabilization program with pharmacists participating in a variety of direct patient care roles.
Memorial Hospital Pembroke’s Pharmacy Residency Program was established in 2014 and has full accreditation by the American Society of Health System Pharmacists. Our program combines clinical training with teaching and scholarly activities to develop a well-rounded clinical practitioner with leadership, confidence, and professional skills.
The deadline for all residency application materials is January 15th of each year. Interested residency candidates in this program must meet the following requirements:
Applicants must be graduates of an Accreditation Council for Pharmacy Education (ACPE)-accredited Doctor of Pharmacy degree program

Memorial Hospital Pembroke is a non-profit, acute-care, community based hospital located in the heart of Pembroke Pines, FL. There are 301 licensed beds, including a 29-bed Emergency Department. The facility is NIH Stroke Certified with pharmacists participating in a variety of direct patient care roles. Some of our on-site specialty areas include a wound healing unit, Intensivist managed Critical Care units, Memorial Medical Detoxification program, as well as a freestanding Urgent Care Center.
