Sumner Regional Medical Center’s Postgraduate Year One (PGY-1) Residency Program is a one year hospital-based program designed to prepare well trained clinical pharmacists for generalized clinical pharmacy practice. Each resident will be able to optimize the outcomes of our patients, support our health-system’s recruitment needs, and advance the profession of pharmacy.

Practice experiences include pharmacy practice, internal medicine, antimicrobial stewardship, critical care, emergency medicine, transitions of care, management, anticoagulation, along with preparation of a project and committee involvement. Our strong relationship with local colleges of Pharmacy provides ample opportunity for precepting and allows the resident to pursue a Teaching Certificate from Lipscomb University if interested.
