Residents are based out of Aurora St. Luke’s Medical Center, located in Milwaukee, WI. Residents have the opportunity to complete learning experiences at both Aurora St. Luke’s Medical Center and Aurora Sinai Medical Center in Milwaukee. Residents complete core learning experiences in direct patient care, drug use policy, administration, medication safety, and staffing. Residents choose learning experiences in adult medicine, surgical medicine, oncology, cardiology, cardiothoracic transplant, abdominal transplant, cardiac and cardiac surgery intensive care, medical intensive care, surgical intensive care, neurological/neurosurgical intensive care, neonatal intensive care, operating room, emergency department, infectious diseases, investigational drugs, informatics, clinical teaching/certificate, and clinics including family medicine, anticoagulation, oncology, heart failure, and population health. Professional development and leadership are emphasized, and each resident’s experiences are customized based on their interests and needs.
All applicants must apply through PhORCAS and meet the following criteria:
Graduate of an ACPE-accredited School of Pharmacy
Eligible for pharmacist licensure in Wisconsin – residents are expected to be licensed as a pharmacist in the state of Wisconsin prior to starting their residency program and sit for their exams at the first available opportunity.
U.S. citizen or permanent resident of the U.S.
The Pharmacy Residency programs participate in the Residency Matching Program (“The Match”).
After “The Match”, employment as a pharmacy resident is still contingent upon the applicant satisfying Aurora Health Care’s employment eligibility requirements, including an employment application/evaluation by Human Resources and a pre-employment physical and drug screen (hair analysis). The pre-employment physical and drug screen must be completed at a designated Aurora Health Care location between May 15 and June 1.
All matched residents must start on the pre-determined start date. Refer to the program director for the exact pre-determined start date as adjustments in start date are not allowed.
