https://www.memorial.org/pharmacy-residency-program This is a 12 month ASHP accredited PGY1 pharmacy residency offered by CHI Memorial in Chattanooga, Tennessee. We offer 4 PGY1 positions. This residency program is designed to prepare pharmacists for advanced level practice at a community-based hospital. The resident, supported on every side with a multidisciplinary healthcare team, will be responsible and accountable for the provision and oversight of evidence-based, patient-centered medication related outcomes. The resident will develop a strong foundation in pharmacotherapy, operational, and practice management skills. CHI is a 3-hospital healthcare system with over 400 beds. Serving the Chattanooga community for more than 65 years and strengthened as part of Catholic Health Initiatives, CHI Memorial offers a continuum of care including preventative, primary and acute hospital care, as well as cardiac, cancer, orthopedic, imaging, bariatric, general surgery, and a multitude of other services. CHI Memorial is a regional referral center of choice with more than 4,700 associates and more than 650 affiliated physicians providing health care throughout Southeast Tennessee, North Georgia and southeast Alabama. CHI Memorial has been named by US News and Reports as the #1 hospital in the region and the #2 hospital in the state of Tennessee 2018 and 2019. We are surrounded by picturesque mountains with ample opportunities for mountain biking, hiking, white water rafting, and rock climbing to name a few. Required rotations include Anticoagulation, Cardiology, Critical Care, Drug Information/Drug Use Policy, Emergency Medicine, Hospital Pharmacy Practice, Infectious Disease, Internal Medicine, Nutrition Support, Pharmacokinetics, Pharmacy Practice Management, and Student precepting. Elective rotations include Informatics, Nephrology, Oncology, Psychiatry, Research, and the option to repeat any required rotations listed above. Staffing requirements are one weekend each month and one evening per week. CHI Memorial pharmacists practice in an innovative environment and are valuable members of the healthcare team. Pharmacists are decentralized with a presence in the emergency department, all ICUs, and all medical floors. The pharmacy is equipped with advanced technology along with systems that promote safe and effective medication use. Pharmacists hold advanced degrees, residency training, board certification, and years of distribution and management experience.
