Albany Medical Center is an ASHP accredited PGY-1 training program with the primary goal of preparing residents to become excellent pharmacy practitioners, educators, researchers and leaders. Our educational experiences focus on acute inpatient care, with additional experiences in ambulatory care environments. The program is designed to provide the resident with a sound foundation in acute care pharmacy practice with the opportunity to individualize their learning experiences to their educational needs
The highly automated Department of Pharmacy has a staff of over 100 pharmacists, technicians and support personnel. Residency preceptors are highly experienced pharmacists from the AMC staff or the Albany College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences faculty practicing at AMC facilities.
