Residency Special features: The PGY1 residency program at Northwestern Medicine Delnor Hospital (NM-DH) in Geneva, Illinois provides a unique educational training experience to create competent and professional pharmacists in a community hospital that is part of an expansive integrated academic health system. The resident will develop skills to improve patient care and further expand the future of the pharmacy profession by obtaining patient care or PGY2 training positions post-graduation. Required learning experiences include: Pharmacy Practice, General Medicine, Critical Care, Clinical or Operational Administration, Antimicrobial Stewardship, Transitions of Care, and Oncology. Elective learning experiences include Infectious Disease, Clinical or Operational Administration, Advanced Critical Care, Advanced Antimicrobial Stewardship, Advanced Oncology, Advanced Administration, and Cardiology. Two positions will be available starting Summer 2020.

This community teaching hospital offers services for general medicine, cardiology, surgery, maternity, critical care, oncology, and emergency medicine. NM-DH is also a designated primary stroke center, has outpatient oncology and family practice clinics on campus, and hosts a family medicine residency program. Pharmacy services provide IPPE and APPE rotations annually for pharmacy students from several local colleges of pharmacy.
