PGY1 Pharmacy Residency

The PGY-1 Pharmacy Practice Residency is a 12-month, full-time curriculum designed to prepare pharmacists to provide direct patient care; educate healthcare providers, patients, and the community; manage pharmacotherapeutic issues in a variety of patient-care environments; and serve as leaders in the healthcare community. The purpose of this residency program is to develop well-rounded, independent, competent clinical pharmacists able to provide services in a variety of practice settings. Residents have the opportunity to gain experiences in many clinical areas, including mental health, Home Based Primary Care, acute medicine, ambulatory care, long term care, and critical care. The resident will use the inpatient and ambulatory environments to develop competencies in clinical pharmacy practice. Residents participate in ward rounds, attending rounds, ambulatory care patient visits, case conference, journal clubs and education meetings. Opportunities for involvement in activities of the Pharmacy and Therapeutics Committee and in precepting students are provided. In addition, residents staff one weekend a month with time spend in both inpatient and outpatient pharmacy

U.S. Citizenship, PharmD degree from an ACPE accredited school of pharmacy, eligibility for licensure in US state/territory within 90 days of starting the program, CV, official college of pharmacy transcript, three letters of recommendation, letter of intent and an interview. |
