The PGY-1 Pharmacy Residency Program at Tallahassee Memorial HealthCare is an ASHP-accredited pharmacy practice residency. The TMH Residency Program provides an in-depth experience in pharmacy practice with a goal to produce well-rounded pharmacists in pharmacotherapy and leadership. The program consists of six core rotations and four longitudinal learning experiences. There are several electives the resident may choose from to include, psychiatry, infectious disease, emergency medicine and neonatal and pediatric medicine. The resident may also customize his/her elective based on individual interests and career goals. In the past, residents have completed electives in critical care, nutritional support, academia and endocrinology.
Program purpose of the TMH Pharmacy Residency Program is to build on Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) education and outcomes to contribute to the development of clinical pharmacists responsible for medication-related care of patients with a wide range of conditions, eligible for board certification, and eligible for postgraduate year two (PGY2) pharmacy residency training.

Tallahassee Memorial Healthcare is a wonderful place for professional growth as a pharmacist. The pharmacy is staffed with 40 professional and 32 non-professional staff. There are many opportunities for inpatient as well as outpatient pharmacy services. Our patient mix ranges from neonates to geriatrics allowing the resident an opportunity to get exposure to an array of patients in different settings. We also allow the residents the flexibility to pursue particular areas of interest that are not integrated with the required learning experiences.
