Clinical Social Worker
George Mason University, College of Health and Human Services (CHHS) invites applications for this new 12 Month Clinical Social Worker, grant funded, position for our Population Health Center (PHC). This position covers the primary care team at George Mason University at all MAP sites. The incumbent will serve as an interdisciplinary team member and provides support for students, faculty and staff in the MAP Clinics. The mission of the Population Health Center is to advance the public's health and eliminate disparities through the delivery of inter-professional health care, innovative research of consequence and professional and workforce training. The Center accomplishes its mission through faculty leadership for academics and training, student-centered experiential learning opportunities and research discovery and translation. The Center will be a dynamic resource for CHHS faculty and collaborators, while remaining student-centered and serving our community.

This position will use a high level of skill in assessing and treating complex psychosocial needs of at risk and marginalized families. Coordinates care, develops and uses community resources to facilitate referrals. Develops and implements treatment plans and provides accurate information to patients, family, staff, and other internal and external customers in a timely manner. Requires knowledge of a broad range of psychosocial, medical, and mental health issue. Participates extensively in student training programs for social work students nursing and advanced students and other disciplines in the clinics. The incumbent is responsible for overseeing the planning, implementation and evaluation of all components of field education in the MAP Clinics for both the BSW and MSW programs.
The candidate must have an MSW from a CSWE-accredited program with a minimum of five years post-MSW experience;
Extensive experience in field instruction and field education in academic settings;
Knowledge of CSWE Educational Policy and Accreditation Standards;
Solid administrative, leadership, management and supervisory knowledge and skills;
Organizational, time management, and detail-oriented abilities;
Ability to engage and work with diverse stakeholders in the department, college, university, and larger community;
Problem-solving and conflict resolution skills;
Strong interpersonal and communication skills;
A professional social work identity with accompanying values and ethics.
Successful experience in a comparable position at another academic institution.
Salary: Commensurate with education and experience.
