Description The Pharmacy Department provides comprehensive pharmaceutical services (unit dose, IV admixtures, clinical services, infusion pumps and teaching) throughout the Medical Center complex 24 hours per day. The Department is comprised of three inpatient and three outpatient pharmacies, a sterile production lab, and the full complement of pharmacy purchasing, stores and distribution. Staffing consists of 66 professional and 65 technical and administrative support personnel.

Qualifications REQUIRED -Valid CA Pharmacy Technician License -Experience/Proficiency with computer software, including Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook and Powerpoint) -Ability to accurately perform pharmacy calculations.
PREFERRED -Experience in preparation of compounded sterile products -Previous experience in an inpatient pharmacy setting -Previous IDS experience -Previous EPIC/Willow experience -Excellent written and verbal communications skills -Problem-solving skills to independently recognize and define a problem; identify the resources available to help solve the problem; create and implement viable solutions; and follow through to ensure the problem is resolved to the satisfaction of all parties. -Able to be self-motivated to complete tasks and work with minimal supervision, yet to recognize when it is appropriate to seek assistance from others when limits of authority have been reached. -Decision-making skills to independently exercise delegated authority to take action, and to recognize when it is appropriate to seek assistance from others when limits of delegated authority have been reached. -Pharmacy Technician Board Certification

Responsibilities The purpose of this position is to provide pharmacy technician support in all aspects of investigational drugs services, under the direct supervision and control of a pharmacist. Services include but are not limited to: Preparation of investigational products for patient administration, sterile compounding, handling and preparation of hazardous drugs, distribution of investigational product to patient care areas, inventory and stock assessment for investigational products, billing for investigational product and provision of service to all customers of the IDS pharmacy.
