Our PGY1 residency program offers a flexible and tailored program for each resident with 28 different rotation options, an elective teaching certificate through the SDSU College of Pharmacy and Allied Health Professions, opportunities for publication, and multiple presentation opportunities. Residents receive a competitive salary and work every third weekend in both clinical and centralized roles. Required rotations include orientation, ambulatory care, critical care, infectious disease, internal medicine, and pediatrics/neonatology and longitudinal drug information, HIV clinic, management, project, and staffing. Electives are available for antimicrobial stewardship, cardiology, family medicine ambulatory care, internal medicine II, oncology, home care/hospice, nephrology, surgical ICU/OR, medication safety, advanced management, clinical informatics, research, specialty pharmacy, and a longitudinal teaching certificate as well as leadership certificate. Regional Health Rapid City Hospital (RCH) is a nonprofit acute care community hospital licensed for 366 beds located in Rapid City, South Dakota. RCH is the largest hospital in a 350-mile radius and is a Level II Trauma Center and Primary Stroke Center, with South Dakota's busiest Emergency Department.
