Manatee Memorial Hospital (MMH) provides advanced level PGY1 training in an acute care community-based hospital. Residents are part of the graduate medical education (GME) program and will develop skills to successfully provide evidence-based, patient-centered medication therapy management through a variety of integrated practice experiences, with an emphasis in cardiology, critical care, infectious diseases, internal medicine, medication safety, nutritional therapy, and pharmacokinetics. Interdisciplinary rounding will occur will occur in both a community practice model and with GME teaching faculty.
MMH is located on the banks of the Manatee River, is a Certified Stroke Center, Chest Pain Center, and offers advanced cardiovascular services. The pharmacy department is decentralized, including an OR satellite. Pharmacists precept students and interns from several colleges and schools of pharmacy.
