The PGY2 residency program at CHI Health is designed to build upon PGY1 pharmacy practice residency experiences and to further develop a practitioner’s expertise in operational, clinical, and human resources management within a health system enterprise. The resident will be accountable for optimizing supply expense reduction initiatives, leading medication safety and drug use policy improvements, providing clinical care and shift supervision during staffing experiences. The resident will gain experience in project management, goal setting, monitoring and reporting of project outcomes, and working with other health system leaders to maximize impact to patient care. The resident will become proficient in developing a means of becoming a lifelong learner, monitoring his or her own skills, and embracing a commitment to the profession. The residency is flexible and provides the resident with a wide range of experiences.
The applicant must be participating in, or have completed, an ASHP-accredited PGY1 pharmacy residency program or one in the ASHP accreditation process (i.e., one with candidate or preliminary accreditation status).
Applicants to pharmacy residencies should be graduates or candidates for graduation of an accredited pharmacy degree program (or one in process of pursuing accreditation) or have a Foreign Pharmacy Graduate Equivalency Committee (FPGEC) certificate from the National Association of Boards of Pharmacy (NABP). At a minimum, the program must be a five-year pharmacy degree program.
The applicant must be eligible for licensure as a pharmacist in Nebraska prior to the start of the residency program.
To be considered for an onsite interview, the candidate must apply via the PhORCAS online application system by the listed deadline. The list of application materials may be found within the PhORCAS online application, and will include the standard PhORCAS application, a Curriculum Vitae, pharmacy college transcripts, and three letters of reference.
