PGY1 Program Purpose: PGY1 pharmacy residency programs build on Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) education and outcomes to contribute to the development of clinical pharmacists responsible for medication-related care of patients with a wide range of conditions, eligible for board certification, and eligible for postgraduate year two (PGY2) pharmacy residency training.
Doctors Hospital at Renaissance (DHR), in conjunction with Texas A&M Irma Lerma Rangel College of Pharmacy, is offering two Post Graduate Year 1 (PGY1) pharmacy residency positions designed to advance the practice of post graduate pharmacists. The PGY 1 pharmacy residency is a twelve-month program designed to expose residents to a comprehensive clinical environment in which they will develop knowledge and skills in direct patient care in both acute and ambulatory care settings, teaching and research.
Our program is a 12 month post graduate curriculum (July 1st to June 30th) that offers training opportunities in acute care, ambulatory care, drug information, drug use policy development, clinical services and pharmacy leadership.
