Part Time; Per Diem Salary: $70.95/Hourly

This position serves as Pharmacist, Per Diem for UC Santa Cruz Student Health Services and is responsible for the proper dispensing of all drugs in all schedules. The Pharmacist, Per Diem is responsible for compliance with all state and federal laws and regulations pertaining to the practice of pharmacy. The Pharmacy is supervised by the Ancillary Services Director who also serves as the Pharmacist In Charge (PIC).
Special Conditions Include:
Possession of current license, in good standing, to practice pharmacy in the State of California
Graduation from an accredited school of pharmacy
Prior to formal offer of employment, the selected candidate will be required to successfully complete a pre-employment criminal history background check and a pre-employment credentialing check
Selected Candidate is required to:
Take HIPAA (Health Insurance Portability and Accessibility Act) training within 30 days of hire;
Either possess or obtain Emergency Contraception Certification for prescribing emergency contraception within 30 days of hire;
Either possess or obtain Nicotine Replacement continuing education for prescribing OTC nicotine replacement products within 30 days days of hire;
Either possess or obtain Pharmacist Provided Immunization Certification for administering influenza vaccines within 60 days of hire.
Student Health Services employees are required to comply with current Student Health Services employee health safety requirements for health care workers as defined by state and federal regulatory agencies; current health safety requirements to be discussed during interview.

Knowledge of pharmacy standards of practice, consultation and education guidelines
Good written and oral communication skills
Ability to operate PC, often in a standing position, with or without accommodation
Ability to work cooperatively with clinicians and independently with minimal supervision
Demonstrated flexibility and organizational skills with ability to prioritize a high-volume workload and function independently under pressure with time constraints
