UWMC PHARMACY is looking for a TEMPORARY/HOURLY PHARMACIST INTERN. The Pharmacist Intern performs a variety of technical pharmaceutical tasks in the inpatient or satellite pharmacies. Under general supervision and control of a licensed pharmacist, the Pharmacist Intern independently performs a variety of technical pharmaceutical functions, such as compounding medications, filling medication orders, and preparing compounded sterile products.Primary job responsibilities:* Maintain repackaging records.* Load drawers for the PYXIS and unit dose medication distribution system.* Deliver medications, including transfer of medication drawers, to the nursing units or other areas of the hospital.* Package medications into single-unit packages.* Restock shelves in the pharmacy.* Pull outdates off shelves.* Maintain the stock levels of ward stock on the nursing units.* Prepare pharmaceutical solutions for external use.* Check stock for expiration dates.* Maintain patient confidentiality according to UW Medical Center standards.* Adhere to UWMC Pharmacy Services and UW Medical Center policies and procedures.
