This Assistant/Associate Professor (.50 FTE) position is cross-listed with an Assistant Dean for Experiential Education (.50FTE). Candidates need only apply to one of the three (3) cross-listed positions (Posting numbers 331395 and 331397, and 331401). The faculty position is assigned with the College of Pharmacy with an Administrative Augmentation for the Assistant Dean role within the Professional Education Division. The faculty portion of this position (.50 FTE) consists of the following: Education (20%): Provides direct instruction within the Doctor of Pharmacy program. Opportunities are available to design application-oriented, technology-facilitated simulation and instruction. Scholarship (20%): Engages in scholarship activities. These may be related to education such as applied or experiential learning and/or performance assessment, depending on areas of interest. Service (10%): Serves on education-related or profession-oriented committees as a leader for pharmacy education. The Administrative portion of this position (.50 FTE) consists of the following: Program leadership: Provides vision for advancing pharmacy practice through experiential education, and oversight for the Office of Experiential Education, including: Works with stake holders to develop a strategic vision, including long-term planning for experiential education; oversees the implementation objectives for strategic goals; oversees the coordination, development, implementation of all introductory and advance experiential learning activities in the College; oversees the establishment of policies and procedures, prepares appointments/reappointments, and approves new site recommendations; develops proposals for experiential training initiatives and obtains support for new and/or continuing activities (e.g., program expansion, regional initiatives, etc.) Program Quality Assurance and Continuous Improvement: Provides oversight of quality assurance and improvement activities for experiential education with the College; defines and monitors metrics of success; coordinates the overall evaluation of the content, effectiveness, and value of experiential education provided by the College; implements ACPE/AACP standards, guidelines and educational outcomes pertaining to experiential education; works with the Office of Experiential Education, experiential course directors, other members of the Professional Education Division, along with the Office of Student Services, Alumni Relations, preceptors, and faculty to continually enhance our experiential education programs. Representative/Advocate: Represents and serves as an advocate for the College's professional mission with internal and external stakeholders. Provides leadership and direction in engaging partners on and off campus to enhance and support experiential education. Supervision: Directs experiential team composed of Director of Experiential Education (.80 FTE), Director of Preceptor Development (1.0 FTE), Coordinator of Experiential Education (.50 FTE), and Program Associate (1.0 FTE). Fiscal responsibility: Plan and manage the overall program budget, allocates resources to implement program goals, and establishes controls to monitor such use of resources.

Minimum Qualifications: 5 years of experience as a pharmacist and at least 3 years serving as a preceptor for pharmacy students or residents. Academic experience (or equivalent) that would qualify for an appointment as an Assistant/Associate/Professor. Licensed or eligible for licensure as a pharmacist in the state of Minnesota. Preferred Qualifications: Leadership experience including delegation, leading teams and individuals, and problem-solving (such as Chair, Director, Assistant Dean) Ability to build relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Familiarity of diverse roles for pharmacists in a variety of settings. Demonstrated success in implementing educational training initiatives. Experience with accreditation standards and procedures. |
