Description The Department of Clinical Social Services provides comprehensive clinical social services to family members and their significant others at UC Davis Health. Licensed Clinical Social Workers (LCSW) are available onsite 24 hours a day.

Qualifications -MSW and two years of post-graduate experience in a medical and/or mental health setting and LCSW licensure is required. -Maintain a current LCSW license with the Board of Behavioral Sciences at all times. -Knowledge and understanding of individual, child, and family development, human behavior and communication, the influence of culture and values in social work practice, psychotherapy, case management, and the relation ship between social work practice and medicine. -Knowledge of child abuse, elder abuse, and domestic violence reporting requirements, and other significant legislation and laws regulating social work practice, e.g. Tarasoff, patient confidentiality, etc. -Knowledge of organ and tissue donation protocol as outlined within the UCDHS Policy and Procedure Manual. -Knowledge of community resources. -Knowledge of and ability to effectively use current DSM manual. -Knowledge of suicidal behavior, the ability to assess lethality, and the ability to develop appropriate treatment plan. -Knowledge of legal requirements and guidelines for providing psychiatric services including the appropriate use of 5150. -Knowledge of and ability to perform mental status exams.
SPECIAL REQUIREMENT -Must be able to work variable schedule which includes weekends and holidays, to meet the needs of our patients. -THIS POSITION MAY BE SUBJECT TO A CRIMINAL BACKGROUND INVESTIGATION, DRUG SCREEN, LIVE SCAN FINGERPRINTING, MEDICAL EVALUATION CLEARANCE, AND FUNCTIONAL CAPACITY ASSESSMENT
Responsibilities The License Clinical Social Worker is an advocate for the patient's right to self-determination, confidentiality, access to supportive services and resources, and appropriate inclusion in decision making that affects their health and well-being. This position will be an active participant and work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team by recognizing and offering services that address the biopsychosocial needs of the patient.
