Good Seed grew out of a church that was based in Northern and Southern California. The church’s tradition included a strong commitment to service which manifested as a food bank, a youth shelter and assisting the homeless. The church’s legacy and belief in serving others provided a strong foundation for Good Seed CDC to sprout. At Good Seed, we actualize our mission by delivering nurturing housing, health, and supportive services to youth ages 16 to 25 throughout Los Angeles County. Our services include rapid re-housing and permanent supportive housing services, mental health services, physical health services, case management, education support, employment services, and peer support services. We offer services at multiple youth drop-in centers and emergency supportive housing shelters. To fulfill our mission and values is our guiding principal, to serve any youth in need.
Good Seed is searching for a Licensed Clinical Social Worker (LCSW) to support one of two facilities. The LCSW will be responsible for providing supervision to MSW graduates and interns in the preparation of social histories, provision of social services, and licensure. They will also be responsible for administering and supervising the social service programs deliver at the facility, aiding in developing social service programs and resources. The LCSW plays a critical role in Good Seed’s ability to provide essential services to the clients we serve. The LCSW works closely with the Executive Director in developing and implementing program evaluation, quality improvement, and program initiatives. The LCSW will play a key role in overseeing the day-to-day operations of the facility and providing clients centric programs that support our integrative team.
A successful LCSW candidate will be able to professionally apply social work methods and theory to the diagnosis, prevention, and treatment of psycho social dysfunction, impairment, or disability, including mental, emotional, and behavioral disorders for Transition-Age Youth, families, individuals, and groups. Also, they will be able to provide knowledgeable consultation on various social aspects such as procedures, policies, and services to volunteers, medical staff, community groups, and clinic clients. Also, they should be well versed in the admission, coordination of social services care planning/programming, and client interventions. The ideal candidate would be responsible for a keeping pulse on the scheduling of staff/interns/volunteers at the facility and for ensuring the facility properly stocked whether ordering food and hygiene supplies or ensuring maintenance request are submitted and completed
The LCSW primary responsibilities include:
Screen/review clients’ medical records
Conducting in-person clinical interviews, and assessments
Establishing treatment goals and support for clients
Arranging expediting and coordinating services for clients
Providing supervision for MSW graduates for licensure as well as MSW interns
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Planning, managing and delivering social services
Diagnosing and providing treatment to individuals, specifically, transition-age youth ages 16-25, who may have mental disorders, as well as various behavioral and emotional disturbances
Interview persons seeking psychiatric assistance on an emergency basis and utilizes crisis intervention techniques to prevent hospitalization and to aid the person in dealing with the emotional crisis
Be a liaison with area resources and assist in the coordination of social service activities
Develops a tentative CCCP designed to resolve or cope with the mental or emotional problem, which may include individual, group, family or marital counseling, case management, and referral to another treatment source such as a psychiatrist, a psychologist, a vocational or rehabilitation counselor, or another agency
Assessing and planning for the social requirements of individuals, groups, families, and organizations
Participating in general department meetings, treatment team, and case supervision meetings
Complying with Good Seed policies, understandings, and agreeing to support the Good Seed Mission Statement.
Lead and implement program development initiatives, in consultation with the Executive Director
Identify training needs for clinical and direct-care staff
Supervises a comprehensive and robust clinical curriculum including evidence-based, and trauma-informed expressive, experiential, mind-body, psychoeducation and process group modalities
Master’s degree in social work
Minimum of 4 years’ experience in treating persons with mental illness, emotional disturbances, or similar afflictions
Minimum of 3 years of experience developing social work activities
Licensed in the state of California as a Licensed Clinical Social Worker.
Current BLS/CPR (preferred).
An ability to analyze and interpret patient/environmental information to plan appropriate interventions.
Must have excellent communication skills written and verbal
Must possess strong Emotional Intelligence
Have the ability to lift 25 pounds
Must be professional
