The Department of Radiation Oncology at the Rutgers Cancer Institute of New Jersey, Rutgers, the State University of New Jersey is seeking a full time Radiation Oncologist who will contribute to advancing the Department’s strategic plan by providing exceptional clinical services with a multidisciplinary care team approach, within a multi-facility academic radiation oncology department. The Department provides clinical services at Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital-New Brunswick, the major teaching affiliate of Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School, as well as Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital-Somerset and Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital-Hamilton. In addition, the Department also provides clinical services at University Hospital in Newark, the major teaching hospital of Rutgers New Jersey Medical School. This position will primarily be at our Newark facility but some flexibility in location is possible.
A broad range of technology is available for clinical application throughout our facilities including GammaKnife, Tomotherapy, IMRT, IGRT, 3D-CRT, stereotactic radiosurgery, brachytherapy and a newly opened proton therapy facility. The practice conducts a number of cooperative group trials, investigator-initiated trials, has an ACGME accredited MD residency program at Rutgers Robert Wood Johnson Medical School along with a CAMPEP accredited medical physics residency program. We also have a large NIH supported radiation cancer biology program with 6 basic science laboratories.
We are looking for individuals with clinical skills and motivation to build a practice with preference given to candidates with a strong clinical background with academic experience or potential to develop a successful academic career.
Clinical areas of focus are flexible, but preference will be given to candidates with an interest and experience in GYN and brachytherapy. Demonstrated experience in a large multi-site health system is preferred. Successful candidates will have a dynamic and collaborative practice style with outstanding organizational, physician engagement and communication expertise. Rank and salary will be commensurate with qualification and experience. Board certification or eligibility by the American Board of Radiology and eligibility for medical licensure by the state of New Jersey are required.
