An exciting opportunity has been created for a research associate to join the Section of Family Planning in the Department of Obstetrics and Gynecology. Our research focuses on identifying the impact of policy and programs on reproductive health disparities, with a particular focus on the Medicaid population. Three large health services research studies are currently underway. These include evaluating Oregon\u2019s policy expanding the scope of pharmacists to prescribe contraception, the Reproductive Health Equity Act, and the heath impacts of differing coverage structures for new immigrants under Medicaid for pregnancy care.
The Research Associate will support quantitative analyses about the impacts of reproductive health policies, with a particular emphasis on contraception and abortion. The successful candidate with bring passion for the topic area, desire to be part of a hardworking multidisciplinary team, and advanced skills in data management and cleaning, analysis, and visualization techniques. Skills and/or desire to learn matching and other causal inference methods is a plus. This position offers room for increasing responsibility and career development for a self-starter through participating in scientific manuscripts and grant applications. Key duties and responsibilities:
Manage and clean large vital records/ Medicaid claims databases to generate research grade data
In collaboration with the study team, carry out data analyses of the above datasets adhering to tenets of reproducible research (univariable, bivariable, and multivariable models)
Manage funded projects (e.g progress reports, IRB applications) and participate in development of grant proposals
Actively contribute to the presentation and publication of research findings
