Provides leadership, direction, and oversight of student assignment and placement processes for Advanced and Introductory Pharmacy Practice Experiences with emphasis in the Duluth area and Greater Minnesota.
Supports the Experiential Education team in logistics of student placement and site availability for APPE and IPPE
Providing leadership for the Experiential Education team on the utilization of the learning management software platform
Duluth campus resource for experiential education for faculty and students throughout the 12-month experiential academic year
Advising students in related to career interests and rotation selection
Triages and problem-solves student placement issues within the Duluth area and Greater Minnesota
Works with preceptors to determine preceptor availability for taking students on rotations
Duluth and rural (northern MN) affiliation agreements.
Assists with all aspects of experiential education including site and student onboarding requirements
Point person for Medically Underserved and Rural experiential education requirements.
2. Site Visits/Program Compliance/Preceptor Development/Continuous Quality Improvement in Greater Minnesota and Wisconsin (25%)
Conducts sites visits to ensure accreditation standards and experiential policies are utilized appropriately. Documentation of site visits and follow-up.
Required travel to the Minneapolis campus, to student training sites, and potential sites around the state of Minnesota and Wisconsin
Works with preceptors and sites to develop processes for continuous quality improvement
Assists with site recruitment and development
Make connections between the College and the site, offers preceptor support, and ensures that sites provide adequate training facilities and educational opportunities for students
Assist the Director for Preceptor Development in identifying needs and creating processes for IPPE and APPE preceptor education programs and learning resources
Contribute to experiential education newsletter and other communications with preceptors
Directing staff on logistics and coordination of programs
Collaborates with Preceptor Development Director on creating and delivering preceptor enrichment programs within Greater Minnesota and Wisconsin
Triages and addresses preceptor issues
Serves Greater Minnesota as a liaison for collegiate communications
Coordinates regional learning activities with partners (i.e. AHEC, MSHP, MPhA, DAP (Duluth Area Pharmacists))
3. Work as a team member of the Professional Education Division (15%)
Work with staff from Office of Experiential Education, Professional & External Relations, Office of Student Services, Teaching/Learning/Assessment and Continuing Education to enhance the learning experience for our students in the professional program.
Bachelor's degree in a field related to the position and 8 years of related work experience.
Experience with rotation site precepting of pharmacy practice experience rotation students required.
Commitment to work with faculty and staff on two campuses while based on the Duluth campus.
Strong communication skills.
Ability to work with teams and involvement in leading projects.
Ability to work independently, creatively, and collaboratively in a fast-paced and changing work environment.
Doctor of Pharmacy degree and residency training or 5 years of pharmacist experience.
Experience implementing site and preceptor development programs.
