UC San Diego Health Care is seeking an outstanding clinical pharmacist to join a highly successful Inpatient Pharmacy team to work as a Psychiatry-focused pharmacist at our Hillcrest Campus. The job will integrate into the clinical, teaching, research and distribution system for UC San Diego Health System and the Skaggs School of Pharmacy and Pharmaceutical Sciences.
The primary practice area will be in our Acute Inpatient Psychiatric Units with oversight over our Senior Behavioral Health Unit & our Adult Neuropsychiatric and Behavioral Medicine Unit. Pharmacist activities include but are not limited to: Profile review, TPN order writing, Pharmacokinetics, Renal Drug Dosing, Medication Reconciliation, Chemotherapy order review, Precepting Pharmacy Students from the Skaggs School of Pharmacy & Pharmaceutical Sciences, Precepting UC San Diego Health PGY1 & PGY2 Pharmacy Residents, Investigational Drug support, and other activities that optimize outcomes of drug therapy.
Graduation from an accredited college of Pharmacy.
Doctorate of Pharmacy Degree; or equivalent clinical experience.
Registered Pharmacist - issued by the state of California (RPH).
Pharmacy residency or equivalent clinical experience.
Demonstrated knowledge of pharmacy state and federal regulations.
Excellent communication, interpersonal and customer service and counseling skills.
Supervisory skills to include workload management.
Strong ability to operate computer systems.
Pharm.D. and completion of a PGY1 postgraduate residency training or equivalent training.
Completion of PGY1 and PGY2 or two (2) years of hospital pharmacy experience.
Possess board-certification in psychiatric pharmacy (BCPP).
Experience with EPIC/Beacon and Pyxis.
Teaching and writing skills, which can be applied to article publication in hospital newsletter and professional journals, protocol reviews on various board meetings.
Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
