Enter new patients into pharmacy management system.
Intake, enter, process, and return-to-stock prescriptions when needed.
Look up, enter, update, and bill prescriptions to patient insurance as needed.
Fill prescriptions according to Boynton procedures as well as state and federal regulations.
Answer the phone promptly, referring calls to pharmacist when necessary.
Mail prescriptions according to procedures when requested.
Order or receive prescription products and restock shelves.
Help maintain an accurate inventory.
Assist pharmacists with orders for Boynton University departments.
Fill and mail prescriptions for the MDH Tuberculosis program.
Related tasks and duties as assigned.
Secondary Customer Service Duties:
Greet all customers in a welcoming manner.
Check in patients who are requesting a refill or expecting a new prescription.
Collect patient insurance information.
Complete point of sale transactions for prescriptions and OTC items.
Refer all inquiries on prescription and OTC items to a pharmacist per Minnesota Pharmacy law.
Comply with Minnesota Pharmacy law regarding sale of pseudoephedrine products.
* Position is represented by a Bargaining Unit: AFSCME Health Care. Dues or Fair Share deductions will be made.
* Hourly Salary Range: $15.33 to $19.28
Required Qualifications: (Must be documented on resume):
High School Diploma/GED. Three (3) months experience as a Pharmacy Technician and current registration with the MN Board of Pharmacy. Type 25 wpm.
Incumbents must not have been convicted within the past 5 years of a felony or within the past 2 years of any crimes associated with the unauthorized use of controlled substances.
Demonstrated ability to communicate with patients from diverse communities and cultures.
One year experience as a pharmacy technician working with a diverse patient population.
