Part-time Evening Pharmacy Technician Instructor

Requisition Number: 2017082F Job Type: Part Time Job Category: Faculty Job Description Summary: Provide instruction for the Pharmacy Technician evening classes. Classes are held in Bryan and are taught at least two nights per week, possibly three nights per week depending on instructor capabilities. Essential Duties : Provides lecture and hands-on instruction of the Pharmacy Technician curriculum. Classes are open enrollment for eligible adults. Covers all course competencies in instruction. Provides skills training in a Pharmacy lab environment. Grades, administers and facilitates quizzes, exams, hands-on practicums or other tools used to evaluate student progress. Maintains knowledge of, and exhibits, current methodology in area of instruction. Manage classroom activities by enforcing standards, rules and regulations. Promotes a culture of customer service through words and actions. Recruits students and maintains active student enrollment through quality classroom instruction and student communication. Assists students in search for job opportunities and prepares students for job interviews. Provides feedback to the Program Manager on course progress, suggested improvements, or problems that may impact program quality or stability. Performs other related tasks as assigned. Minimum Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities: Proficient in the technical knowledge and skills required of a pharmacy technician. National certification. Three years’ experience as a working pharmacy technician or pharmacist. Current knowledge of trends and practices in pharmaceuticals. Demonstrated proficiency in English; Written, math, and verbal skills. Must be high school graduate or have G.E.D. Preferred Qualifications: Experience teaching students in a classroom setting. Currently working as a Pharmacy Technician or as a licensed Pharmacist. Salary Range: DOE Campus: Bryan
