We are seeking a Nuclear Pharmacist for the Department of Radiology .
You will: * Respond to and screen physician's orders for specific radiopharmaceuticals and ensures conformity with established guidelines, procedures, and treatment protocol. * Accurately screen and enter orders in the patient profile. Compound and dispense radiopharmaceuticals correctly. Prepare and dispense radiopharmaceuticals utilizing good pharmacy practice while following State and Federal regulations.USP <797> standards. * Provide clinical information on radiopharmaceutical therapy and relevant policies and procedures to professional staff. (i.e., physicians, nurses, or nuclear medicine technologists and staff ) as needed. * Oversee the daily activities of staff assigned to work area. Maintain neat, accurate records, and ensures proper care for the environment and equipment. * Complete projects and/or activities, which meet departmental criteria, to maintain and advance professional competency based on departmental guidelines. * Perform radiation safety procedures, e.g., wipe and survey analysis. Record and file laboratory radiation safety records in proper place. Assist in physical inventory of lab supplies and equipment. * Demonstrate competence in, radiation safety procedures, DOT regulations, USP <797> and familiarity and knowledge of JCAHO(Joint Commission) etc. * Ability to innovative in troubleshooting clinical and/or distribution problems. Must demonstrate effective writing proficiency in internal and external communications and documentation procedures; presentation be skills. * Ability to plan and implement plans effectively; makes effective and timely decision when needed. * Develop and maintain positive working relationships with other employees and vendors. * Ensure the safety and security of the pharmacy is maintained at all times; operational procedures are in compliance with Federal, State and local regulations. * Perform all job-related duties required to ensure a safe and efficient Nuclear Pharmacy operation. Work in conjunction with other Nuclear Pharmacists and ensures attainment of objectives are met. * Other responsibilities include dispense and compound radiopharmaceuticals and ancillary medications for all patients undergoing testing in Nuclear Medicine.
Required- * A Bachelor's Degree, preferably in Pharmacy or Pharm. D degree in Pharmacy
Preferred- * A valid NYS Registered Pharmacist License (R. Ph) Pharmacist Registration * A valid Nuclear Pharmacy License (AU Certified) or be eligible for the AU pharmacy license. * 1-2 years of experience in Nuclear Pharmacy. * Working knowledge of Radiation Safety, DOT, USP< 797>,Bio-hazardous waste , HIPPA and Research Protocols.
