As a member of the University of Washington Social Work and Care Coordination department, and the UWMC Palliative Care Consultation Service, this position provides clinical social work services to patients and their families coping with serious illness and end of life issues, and support to providers and staff relating to loss and grief. This position works closely with UWMC interdisciplinary teams and medical services, providing guidance in managing patients coping with serious illness and end of life. The ideal candidate would have experience working with a multidisciplinary team providing palliative care, facilitating groups and providing both informal and structured education on loss and grief and palliative care. Candidates are required to be licensed as a Social Worker in WA state, or eligible for licensure within six months of hire. This position functions as a leader and mentor within the organization on issues relating to Palliative Care, including assessing institutional needs for staff and provider
