UC San Diego Health is seeking an outstanding clinical pharmacist to join a highly successful Investigational Drug Service (IDS) to provide oncology pharmacy service at the Moores Cancer Center.
The primary purpose of the IDS pharmacist is to provide assistance in the coordination and maintenance in the pharmacy efforts of delivering investigational medications to the research subjects at the UC San Diego Health. IDS pharmacist activities at the Moores Cancer Center include but are not limited to: Participates sponsor's site qualification and initiation visits. Establishes pharmacy dispensing procedure based on IRB approved clinical trial protocol and amendments. Provides direct patient care, including treatment plan development, order verification, dose adjustment, pharmaceutical compounding, oral medication dispensing.
Provides an expert level of consultation to the pharmacy, medical and nursing staffs and patients in the area of oncology. Precepts pharmacy residents and fellows. Provides guidance and mentorship to the IDS pharmacy technicians. Upon the request of the manager, attends various meetings to provide pharmacy input on oncology drug protocols. Serves as the liaison between the study team, protocol sponsor, and nursing to coordinates the drug therapy from a pharmacy standpoint. Participate in audits from the sponsors, FDA, DEA, NIH and other regulatory agencies.
Doctorate of Pharmacy Degree; or equivalent clinical experience.
Registered Pharmacist - issued by the state of California (RPH).
Pharmacy residency or equivalent clinical experience.
Completion of PGY1 and PGY2 (oncology) or 4 years of oncology pharmacy experience.
Possess board-certification in oncology pharmacy (BCOP).
Two (2) years of Investigational Drug Service experience.
Experience on IRB (Institutional Review Board) or Protocol Scientific Review Board.
Experience with EPIC/Beacon.
Must be able to work various hours and locations based on business needs.
