A one year residency program with 4 residents offering a balance of acute, ambulatory and long term care experiences. Our program involves a significant amount of direct patient care working with clinical pharmacists and clinical pharmacy specialists in infectious disease, anticoagulation, primary care, diabetes, heart failure, nephrology and endocrinology.
Required rotations include critical care, internal medicine, infectious diseases, geriatrics, PACT [ambulatory care], investigational drugs, nephrology, anticoagulation, and operations. Electives include antimicrobial stewardship, informatics, endocrinology, heart failure clinic, pulmonary, palliative care. Residents present a poster at Midyear and a platform presentation at the regional residency conference. Opportunities to publish are available.
A teaching certificate is available through our university affiliate [Long Island University College of Pharmacy]; a faculty member is on site and opportunities to work with students are available.
Graduate of an accredited college of pharmacy program, completion of required application materials through PhORCAS including letter of intent, CV, transcript from all colleges attended, three letters of reference [of which at least two must be from a clinical preceptor], proof of US citizenship, and upload of responses to supplemental questions. Transcripts will be sent by the school when fall grades are posted and will be uploaded into the system.

JJP is located in the Bronx, NY and offers acute care, ambulatory care, and long term care services. Our inpatient areas include critical care, post surgical, telemetry, medical/surgical, psychiatric and spinal cord injury services. We are the regional VA center for bariatric and renal transplant surgeries. Ambulatory clinics include primary care and specialty services: cardiology, psychiatry, nephrology, geriatrics, infectious disease, pulmonary, gastroenterology, orthopedics, neurology, anticoagulation, and pain management. Our pharmacists practice in ambulatory clinics with full prescribing authority.
