Individuals who complete their PGY-1 Pharmacy Residency at Holy Cross Hospital shall be highly qualified independent practitioners able to provide pharmaceutical care in Critical Care, the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU), Pediatrics, Oncology, General Medicine, and various other environments.
They shall be responsible for drug therapy outcomes as an integral member of the multi-disciplinary health care team. Such pharmacists will be able to develop their own personal plan for professional development.
They will be able to educate patients, health care professionals, and the public on the monitoring, delivery, safety, and appropriate use of medications and communicate this information effectively.
Pharmacists completing this program will be capable of conducting their practice with a high level of maturity and leadership, and be able to perform practice-related research.
Finally, they will develop a high-level of professionalism and compassion for patients consistent with Holy Cross Hospital’s ministry.

A ten-minute presentation of your choice (topics in internal medicine and women’s health are highly encouraged). Please ensure it is reflective of current literature and applied to a case
At least three writing samples (acceptable examples may include presentations, medication use evaluations, monographs, drug information responses or newsletters)
It is highly recommended to bring a portfolio with you to the interview
Requirements for completion of the PGY-1 Pharmacy Residency Program include:
Major Resident Project
Write up of final Resident Project in manuscript form acceptable for peer review journal publication
Completion of a MUE
Completion of at least one drug monograph
Teaching a professional lecture eligible for Continuing Education Credit
Teaching a didactic lecture to a class of health professionals
Successful completion of all required rotations
Maintain and submit a rotation notebook portfolio to include all version drafts and associated feedback
